• Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.) aiming at vehicle functionality and longevity.
• Schedule future maintenance sessions.
• Must repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix any issues (e.g., leaks).
• Must inspect, maintain and repair other equipment fully and efficiently (trailer, welding machines, pressure washer, hydro blasters, etc.).
• Ensures the machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance
requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools; following diagrams, sketches, operation
manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting
malfunctions.
• Locates the source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for
problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules,
calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs,
and straightedges.
• Controls downtime by informing staff of routine preventive maintenance techniques and
monitoring compliance.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory
level anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting order and
verifying receipts.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information and
trends.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and
regulations.
• Keep logs on work and issues.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Five years of experience as an ASE mechanic
• Five years of working on mechanical equipment
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles and equipment
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g., pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g., lifts) • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, and chemicals
• Must have own hand tools, air, and scan tools
• ASE certification
